Camera Compatibility and Testing
We can accept
virtually any resolution and frame rate via a variety of
encoding schemes. As a common interface, we can work with any
camera that will provide a MJPEG stream in response to an HTTP
"get" command, which includes almost every camera on the market.
We prefer not to support cameras that only work with Active-X
controls as they end up being IE-only. We also prefer to avoid
cameras that can only support one client at a time, as it is
then not possible to separate live viewers' settings from the
recording settings.
We have found that we can easily support over 95% of the cameras
on the market. To add a camera to our system we only
require some basic developer information from the manufacturer
as well as a sample unit for testing purposes.
